(STATEHOUSE) - Governor Pence is shedding little light on the sudden exit of Family and Social Services Secretary Debra Minott.
Minott's ouster Monday comes as the state prepares to submit its application to the federal government for approval of an expansion of the Healthy Indiana Plan.
Pence says the shift in focus to implementation of the plan calls for a "new direction" at the agency. He says it's not that the former state personnel director has the wrong skills for the task, but he's not specifying why he felt a change was needed.
Minott has been FSSA secretary since Pence took office in January 2013.
