(LAPORTE) - Authorities say a woman’s body was found frozen inside a freezer at her northern Indiana home and man living with her has been arrested.
LaPorte County Prosecutor Robert Szilagyi says the body will have to be thawed out before an autopsy can be done and that he didn't know how long she had been dead. Authorities didn't immediately release the woman's name.
Szilagyi tells The LaPorte County Herald-Argus that the woman was about 70-years-old.
LaPorte police found the body after being called to the home Sunday night. 47-year-old Daniel Shoffner is jailed on a preliminary charge of murder. It wasn't clear whether he has an attorney.
Neighbor Robert Peals says Shoffner had been living with the woman for several months since her husband's death.
