(VINCENNES) - An October trial date was set Friday for a Vincennes man charged with four counts of Arson and one count of Attempted Arson.
22-year-old James Beamon made his initial court appearance in Knox County Superior Court-One.
Beamon is accused of setting the December 2011 fire that destroyed the Gimbel-Bond building on Main Street in downtown Vincennes.
Authorities also say he admitted setting fire to three buildings on Washington Avenue: a commercial building owned by David Shelton in June of last year; the Pine Box building in March of this year, and the C-and-G Cleaners building in May of this year.
He also admitted to attempting to set fire to the Attic on Washington Avenue a day after the C-and-G Cleaners' fire.
