(INDIANAPOLIS) - A 25-year-old man was arrested Thursday in connection with a fatal hit-and-run last Saturday.
Jacob Stricker was arrested for failing to stop after the crash. He turned himself in to police Wednesday night and is being held on a $50,000 bond.
22-year-old Patrick Hurd of Merrillville was walking north on Township Line Road after midnight on July 12 when he was struck by a vehicle. A cyclist passing by later that morning found Hurd's body and alerted police.
Investigators say the impact sent Hurd flying from the roadside into a ditch. They believe he was on his way back to a friend's house from a near-by gas station and that the victim was either carrying or riding a skateboard that was found at the scene.
