(INDIANAPOLIS) - Indiana State Excise Police says officers have arrested 18 people on 20 charges outside the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Cpl. Travis Thickstun says officers Police say they made the arrests Saturday night during NASCAR Nationwide race events and the Brickfest Music Festival at the Speedway.
Thickstun says 16 people were charged with illegal possession or consumption of alcohol. He says a 38-year-old Indianapolis man was arrested for possession of Heroin after a plainclothes excise observing the man snorting heroin in a truck.
Thickstun says another person was charged with possession of a controlled substance.
The Speedway on Sunday was scheduled to host the Brickyard 400.
