(EVANSVILLE) - Authorities say a man fell off a boat docked on the Ohio River and was later found dead.
Vanderburgh County Deputy Coroner Steve Lockyear tells the Evansville Courier & Press that the body pulled from the Ohio River early Saturday morning was 52-year-old Ernest Weaver of Newburgh, about eight miles southeast of Evansville.
Rescuers found Weaver about 4:30 a.m. Saturday a short distance downstream from where he had slipped off the boat about three hours previously.
Lockyear says authorities were told Weaver wasn't a good swimmer.
It wasn't clear what caused Weaver to fall. An autopsy is planned.
