(TEERE HAUTE) - Firefighters found the body of a 61-year-old man early Friday morning after being called to a fire at a low-income housing facility in downtown Terre Haute.
Terre Haute Fire Department Fire Chief Jeff Fisher tells the Terre Haute Tribune-Star the man likely died as a result of the fire but officials would have to wait for results of an autopsy.
He says the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Firefighters were called to the scene of the fire at the Deming Center about 2 a.m. Friday.
The fire was contained to a single apartment on the third floor.
The name of the victim has not been released.
