(BARTHOLOMEW CO.) - Two people wanted on Bartholomew County warrants were arrested in Johnson County on the Fourth of July after a traffic stop.
Sheriff Doug Cox says that deputies stopped a car on U.S. 31 near Fry Road at about 2 p.m. on the Fourth. The car had a temporary registration tag in the name of 49-year-old Tracy Coop of Bartholomew County, who was wanted here on a warrant for a probation violation.
A woman matching Coop's description was in the passenger seat of the car and after being questioned by the deputy, she first said her name was Tracy Axsom and allegedly gave a false Social Security number. She later admitted that she was Tracy Coop, and identified the driver of the car as Brian Gabbard.
Gabbard driver's license has been suspended for life and he was wanted on a Bartholomew County warrant for failing to appear in court for a battery case.
Both were arrested and held in Johnson County until they could be transferred back to Bartholomew County.
