(UNDATED) - National Guard officials say health issues are prompting the Commander of Fort Wayne’s 122nd Fighter Wing to retire.
David Augustine is expected to step down within the next three to four months.
Augustine's health issues surfaced during an investigation of charges of misuse of funds. Augustine was found innocent of those charges last month.
He's served in the Guard for more than 30 years, and has led the Air National Guard base since 2011.
