(FORT WAYNE) - Officials pulled a body out of the St. Mary’s River around 9:47 a.m Thursday, a sergeant with the Department of Natural Resources said.
On Tuesday night, a witness told officials he heard a splash, turned towards the river, and saw ripples of water.
Crews with the Fort Wayne Fire Department searched the river Tuesday night but did not find anyone.
On Wednesday, DNR crews used sonar and drag strips to search the river before suspending the search at 1 p.m.
DNR resumed the search and found a body near the Clinton Street Martin Luther King Jr. Bridge.
The News-Sentinel reports that the body recovered was a man who had been reported missing earlier in the week.
