(UNDATED) - Some Indiana cities could become the target of a simultaneous attack by cyber-terrorists and conventional terrorists.
In Indianapolis, public safety officials said that attempts have been made to hack into the city's 73-million dollar communications platform -- the one that protects emergency radio, computer traffic and more than 1.4 million 911 calls per year. At an undisclosed location, the system is a standalone network hardened against cyber-attacks.
The city has reached out to its corporate partners to reduce their vulnerability to an attack. In the coming weeks, the city will host a daylong cyber-security summit. It will feature congressional and homeland security experts and corporate leaders.
