(UNDATED) - The hottest weather of the season is finally here.
National Weather Service Meteorologist Jason Puma says this summer has been unseasonably cool across Indiana due to Canadian air coming down and settling in the Ohio Valley.
However, that's not the case this week and through the weekend. Puma says high temperatures should reach into the low 90s. He says high humidity will also linger. The heat index will be in the mid to upper 90s.
Finally, Puma says the unseasonably cool summer - up until this week - doesn't necessarily mean fall and winter will also be unseasonably cool. He says it's far too early to predict.
