(MUNCIE) - Police have arrested a Muncie teenager who they say broke into home and shot a dog.
Nineteen-year-old Christopher Dent II was being held under $25,000 bond Saturday at the Delaware County Jail. He faces preliminary charges of burglary while armed with a deadly weapon and animal cruelty. The online jail registry didn't say whether he has an attorney.
Police tell The Star Press Dent and two other men kicked in the door of a home on June 22, and that Dent then used a handgun to shoot the dog, a young Pit Bull.
Once police found the dog, it was taken to a local animal hospital where its wounds were treated.
One of the other suspects said the dog hadn't been aggressive.
