(INDIANAPOLIS) — Vigils are being planned across the country in response to the recent incidents of alleged police brutality — triggered by the deadly shooting involving police in Ferguson, Missouri.
One of those vigils will be in Indianapolis on Monument Circle. Another is at City Hall in Bloomington.
The events were organized as part of the National Moment of Silence. The vigils will begin at 7 p.m., with the moment of silence starting at 7:20 p.m.
The group has asked participants to wear a red cloth or ribbon on their right arm.
A Facebook page is in place to help people find a vigil near them. The group is also using the hashtag #NMOS14 on Twitter.
