(PORTLAND) - A woman who didn’t properly care for horses will serve no time in jail for her crimes.
Karen Barron pleaded guilty to cruelty to an animal. A veterinarian reported concerns about the animals to police, prompting the initial arrest. One of the horses had to be euthanized.
Barron was sentenced to a year in jail, but the sentence was suspended. She'll have to pay court costs and restitution and serve nine months of probation.
