(EVANSVILLE) - A man was arrested after police responded to a shots fired on Evansville’s south side.
According to a police report, it happened in the 1500 block of S. Kentucky Ave. early Sunday morning around three.
WFIE reports, when officers arrived at the scene they found several people fighting in an alley.
The officers sounded the siren on their cruiser to get the crowd's attention. Police say a man in the crowd then took off.
Officers were able to catch the man, identified as 20-year-old Jefferson Mnu Billimon, a couple blocks away.
Police say Billimon was very irate when he was caught and he cursed at the officers. According to the police report, Billimon also cursed the City of Evansville and threatened to "blow up all the police cars" when he got out of jail.
When officers went back to the original scene, people there told them that Billimon had shown up drunk and was cursing everyone. They told officers he also began to dump trash out in the alley and wouldn't stop. They say the officers arrived shortly after that.
Billimon was arrested and charged with Aggravated Battery with a Firearm and Resisting Law Enforcement. He is being held in the Vanderburgh County Jail on $7,500 bond.
Police say Billimon was also wanted on an active felony warrant.
