(TERRE HAUTE) - A man was in court Tuesday morning in-connection to bomb-like devices found in Terre Haute’s Collett Park.
"...it was a mistake. I didn't mean to scare anybody and I'm sorry," Anthony Tillotson stated on his way to court.
Terre Haute Police said Tillotson confessed to placing two explosive devices in Collett Park last week. He made the devices at his home on Maple Avenue across from the park's main entrance.
According to a detective, the devices were wrapped in either duct tape or silver heat tape and were loaded with black gun powder.
One had a blue fuse coming from it.
Indiana State Police reported if detonated the devices would have had a blast zone of 50-feet in diameter.
WTHI reports, Tillotson will likely be charged with possession of an explosive device when he returns to court on Friday.
He is in the Vigo Count Jail on $50,000 bond.
