(WARRICK CO.) - A Warrick County man is arrested after deputies say he shot his neighbor during an argument.
The Warrick County Sheriff's Office says deputies were called to Deaconess Gateway Hospital Monday evening after being notified by the hospital that they had treated a patient for a gunshot wound.
The victim told deputies that he was at the Tennyson home of 51-year-old Connie Wilkinson when an argument broke out and Wilkinson got a handgun and started shooting at him.
Deputies say one of the rounds hit the victim in the ankle before he could escape. The victim told deputies he then rode his ATV home and went to Gateway Hospital for medical treatment for his injury.
The sheriff's office says deputies arrested Wilkinson at his home and he taken to the Warrick County Jail.
He is charged with Aggravated Battery, a Level 3 Felony and Criminal Recklessness While Armed With a Deadly Weapon, which is a Level 6 Felony.
He is being held on $5,000 cash bond.
