(INDIANAPOLIS) - A man accused of shooting and killing a cat with blow darts made his first court appearance Monday morning.
Police say 22-year-old Jeremiah Long admitted to shooting the cat multiple times last week because it was fighting with his own cat.
Tippy, the injured cat, had darts all over his body when his owner found him. Tippy had to be euthanized at an animal care center.
Jeremiah Long faces charges of torturing or mutilating an animal.
Tippy's owner was in court Monday, saying Long needs psychiatric help and wanting vindication for her cat.
Long's case will head back to court next month.
