(DUNES STATE PARK) - Indiana Conservation Officers are searching for a man that fell overboard from a boat on Lake Michigan near Indiana Dunes State Park.
On Sunday afternoon Amer Rustum 54, of Willowbrook, IL and friends were anchored approximately 20 yards off the Indiana Dunes State Park shoreline. At 5:45 p.m., Rustum fell overboard while the group was preparing to leave the area.
Shortly after Rustum disappeared in the water, the USCG arrived on scene and began a surface search. Indiana Conservation Officers joined the search utilizing a remote operated vehicle (ROV) to perform an underwater search where Rustum allegedly disappeared in the water.
The USCG and Conservation Officers worked into the evening hours but did not locate Rustum at this time. Conservation Officers returned to the scene this morning at 7:30 a.m., continuing to search with the ROV.
