(VINCENNES) - A report of suspicious activity led to the discovery of a marijuana growing operation and the arrest of 3-people in the Decker Area.
The Knox County Sheriff's Department received a report from a concerned citizen in the Decker area near Dicksburg Hills of a red pickup truck with mopeds in the back bed that was stopping frequently with people exiting the truck, taking the mopeds out, putting them back in, and then repeating the process near wooded areas.
When Sheriff Mike Morris and several deputies arrived in the area they quickly located the red truck on a farm access road near Dicksburg Hills. It was quickly determined that the trucks and mopeds were being used in the illegal cultivation of marijuana. K-9 units along with air support from the Indiana State Police led to the arrest of three suspects.
They Include Mike C. Grant; Nelson D. Wesley and Mickey R. Evans all of Vincennes. They were taken to the Knox County Jail where they were charged with criminal trespass; resisting law enforcement, and the cultivation of marijuana.
Deputies continue to search for additional marijuana plants, along with, searching for any possible clandestine methamphetamine labs.
