(EVANSVILLE) - A White House official confirmed that President Barack Obama will be in Indiana on Friday.
"On Friday, October 3, the President will travel to the Evansville, Indiana area. Further details on the President's travel to Indiana will be provided in the coming days," the White House official says.
Air Force One is expected to land at Evansville Regional Airport and then President Obama is expected to visit a business in Gibson County.
According to the Indy Star, this will be the sixth time Obama has visited Indiana since he became president in 2009, including his first presidential trip outside the D.C. area, to Elkhart in February 2009. The unemployment rate in Elkhart County then was 15.3 percent, the highest in the nation.
No other details were released. We will provide updates as more information becomes available.
