(INDIANAPOLIS) - The first of four meetings will take place today to gather public input on a new area code.
Indiana is one of 39 states that are running out of available telephone numbers.
The rise in population and huge number of mobile devices mean at least two new area codes are in the works for central and southern Indiana regions covered by 317 and 812.
Today's hearing is set for 10 am at the PNC Center in downtown Indianapolis.
