(INDIANAPOLIS) - A 43-year-old woman woman was stabbed to death in a northeast Indianapolis apartment late Wednesday.
Officers responded to a disturbance around 11 p.m. at Frederick Square Apartments, 6000 E. 30th Street, and found the unidentified female unresponsive and suffering from multiple stab wounds.
The woman was taken to Eskenazi Health in critical condition, where she later died of her injuries.
Police found a 49-year-old man inside the apartment who was also suffering from multiple stab wounds.
Investigators believe the couple, who had been married for 17 years, had an argument earlier in the evening, which escalated and resulted in the stabbings.
The man was identified as the suspect and was taken to the homicide office for questioning.
The woman's identity has not yet been released.
Crime scene investigators are processing the scene and the woman's body will undergo an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
Detectives still urge anyone with any other information to call Crime Stoppers at 262-TIPS
