(COLUMBUS) - A Columbus man is accused of pushing a 65-year-old woman to the ground and dragging her while stealing money from her purse.
33-year-old Benjamin Purvis was arrested Sunday after he was spotted by a Columbus police officer who was headed to the scene of the reported robbery, police said.
Police said Purvis ignored the officer's orders to stop, until the officer said he'd deploy his K-9.
Purvis was arrested on preliminary charges of robbery, battery resulting in bodily injury, resisting law enforcement and possession of a legend drug injection device, and a separate outstanding warrant out of Bartholomew County.
