Gov. Mike Pence Will Greet Obama

Last updated on Thursday, October 2, 2014

(INDIANAPOLIS) - Gov. Mike Pence’s office says he will travel to Evansville to greet President Barack Obama’s arrival for a visit to southwestern Indiana.

The governor's office says Pence will be on hand for Friday's arrival of Air Force One at Evansville Regional Airport.

Obama will then go to speak during an event at the Millennium Steel Service factory in nearby Gibson County, but it wasn't immediately clear whether the Republican governor would also attend that event.

Obama made five trips to Indiana during his first term as president, but hasn't been back to the state since a May 2011 visit to an Allison Transmission factory in Indianapolis.
