(OLDHAM CO.) - The jury reached a verdict in the trial of a former Oldham County police officer.
Shane Mosley was found guilty on one charge of official misconduct.
WLKY reports, the jury failed to reach a verdict on the other two charges of unlawful transaction with a minor.
The prosecution said Mosely solicited a teenaged girl he met during a traffic stop in 2012.
Investigators say he told the girl he would keep quiet about her drugs if she had sex with him.
The jury recommended a sentence of nine months in jail and a $500 fine.
Shane Mosley is charged with soliciting a teenage girl he met on a traffic stop for sex.
Mosley was a police officer in Oldham County for four years but resigned amid the scandal.
He's facing three criminal charges for a series of texts he allegedly sent that teen.
Around 5 p.m. on Friday, the jury told the judge they reached unanimous verdicts on two of his three charges.
They then spent the next five hours trying to come up with a verdict for the third charge.
Around 10 p.m. Friday, the judge told them to go home for the weekend and come back Monday to finish their discussion.
The case stems from a traffic stop made back in 2012.
Mosley says he found a man and the 17-year-old both in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
According to court documents, Mosley cited the man but not the teen.
The prosecution has argued Mosley, using information from that traffic stop, began texting her and promising to keep the stop quiet if she'd have sex with him.
The victim was the one to contact authorities two years ago.
Official sentencing will be on Dec. 4. Mosley will remain on bond.
