(TELL CITY) - Indiana Conservation Officers arrested 26-year-old Paul S. King of Tell City for operating a vehicle under the influence of a schedule I or II controlled substance, possession of synthetic drug and possession of drug paraphernalia.
On Monday, Indiana Conservation Officer Lt. Duane Englert was going north on State Rd. 57 near Blackburn Road when he noticed a tan Buick driven by King following to close to northbound traffic.
Turning onto 650 North, the vehicle ran off the roadway. Traveling approximately 3 miles along two county roads to catch up to the suspect vehicle, Lt Englert was able to make a stop at State Road 356.
Units from the Pike County Sheriff's Office and the Petersburg Police Department arrived to assist.
The odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected. Field sobriety tests were conducted. The ensuing investigation produced the synthetic drug and drug paraphernalia.
King was then taken to the Daviess County Community Hospital where he failed a drug screen. He was then transported to the Pike County Jail for processing.
