(UTICA) - A Utica woman died Thursday morning after her mobile home erupted in flames.
The fire broke out around 6:30 a.m. at 1013 Utica Charlestown Rd.
Angela Ruth Howard, who would've turned 60 this December, was found in her bedroom around 8 a.m., about an hour after the fire was contained.
Utica Fire Chief Jamey Noel says he broke the news to Howard's family, who'd waited close by as firefighters battled the blaze.
Patresea Timbs says Howard returned home sometime around 1 a.m. Thursday after work. While the cause of the fire is still under investigation, firefighters believe space heaters may be to blame. A State Fire Marshal is investigating.
Noel reminds people to be cautious with space heaters. Don't leave them unattended.
Howard lived alone with her cats, but her family takes comfort knowing she was surrounded by her faith.
Howard's family has set up a burial fund at PNC Bank on Eastern Blvd in Clarksville.
