(EVANSVILLE) - A Kentucky woman is facing several charges after she led Evansville Police on a high speed chase down some very busy roadways.
Police say 40-year-old Patty Tucker, from Clay, stole several items from the east side WalMart.
Officer say they tried to question Tucker in Walmart's parking lot, but she took off.
We're told she pulled out onto Burkhardt and that's when the chase began.
Officers say she was involved in a hit and run at Burkhardt and Morgan.
No one was hurt.
They say Tucker then worked her way onto I-64 where she spun out in the median, lost one of her back tires, but kept going.
She then cut across Lynch onto Green River Rd. where she got boxed in behind a slow moving truck and had no choice but to stop.
"Fortunately, she only had three good tires so she couldn't get a lot faster than that but unfortunately at that speed it is hard to control your car," said Sgt. Jason Cullum. "How she managed to keep control as long as she did is surprising. There are numerous items in the car that are stolen. We believe that she has hit more places than just Walmart. So now we're going through the process of inventorying all of the property in the car and trying to identify other potential businesses that she targeted."
Police believe Tucker may have been under the influence of drugs and alcohol, so she was taken to Deaconess Hospital for a blood test before being transported to the Vanderburgh County Jail.
She was charged with theft, resisting, criminal recklessness, hit and run, and drug possession.
