(COLUMBUS) - An 11-year-old boy is in critical condition after sustaining a head injury in a football game over the weekend.
Calvin Clark, a 6th-grade student at Hayden Elementary School, was competing in the Police Athletic Activities League Fall Bash Tournament in Columbus, Ind. Saturday.
Clark suffered a head injury and was taken to Riley Hospital for Children, where he underwent surgery, said Chuck Kime, executive director for Columbus Foundation for Youth.
Monday, classmates decorated a sign with the hash tag #CALVINSTRONG.
Clark is currently in critical but stable condition.
