(CLINTON FALLS) - Conservation officers says a Florida man was found cold, thirsty but alive after spending the night in a western Indiana ravine he fell into while deer hunting.
Conservation Officer Max Winchell says 76-year-old John Rimmer of Largo, Florida, was found about 10:30 a.m. Sunday by conservation officers and Putnam County Sheriff's deputies in a steep and rugged wooded area about one mile south of the town of Clinton Falls.
Winchell says Rimmer was in good spirits, cold, thirsty and tired after his overnight ordeal. A neighbor near a campsite where Rimmer and another man had been hunting called 911 about 7 p.m. Saturday, saying that Rimmer had not returned from hunting.
Rimmer told his rescuers he had fallen down the ravine after hunting and became disoriented.
