(GREENSBURG) - A man was arrested after a nine-hour standoff with police at his Greensburg home, Indiana State Police confirmed.
Just after 10 a.m. Friday, Greensburg police officers attempted to serve a warrant at a home in the 700 block of Indiana Street.

The warrant was for John Boyce, 49, of Greensburg. When police tried to make contact with him, he refused to come out of the house.
Police chief Stacey Chasteen said Boyce placed barriers behind the door and the windows of the house. He also made threats against the police and was believed to be in possession of numerous firearms.
After several hours, Greensburg police called Indiana State Police Hostage Crisis Negotiator and the Emergency Response Team for assistance.
After negotiating with Boyce by phone, he finally walked out of the house and surrendered to the state police at about 7:45 p.m.
He was taken to the Decatur County Jail on charges of intimidation and may face additional charges, police said.
Greensburg is about 50 miles southeast of Indianapolis.
