Indianapolis Colts Help Make A Million Meals To Fight Hunger

Last updated on Wednesday, November 19, 2014

(INDIANAPOLIS) - For the fourth straight year, the Indianapolis Colts are helping to make a million meals in one day to fight hunger in Central Indiana.

More than 4,000 volunteers are making rice-based, nutritious meals to be sent to local food banks.

Several Colts players have joined the "Kids Against Hunger" assembly line at Lucas Oil Stadium for the "Million Meal Marathon".

Big No. 90, Cory Redding, put on the hair net to lend his hand to the project.

"So wake up on a Tuesday morning, where you could be in school or in your office or working somewhere, you're out here at Lucas Oil Stadium volunteering to feed kids who are starving, who are hungry, who will probably only have this one meal for the day and won't eat for the rest of the day or who knows how many more times they are going to eat during the week," Redding said.

Today's goal is to make 1.25 million meals.
