(GREENWOOD) - An 11-year-old’s death is being investigated after his parents found him unresponsive at home Saturday.
Sheriff Doug Cox confirmed 11-year-old Tyler Lukins was found just before 1:00 p.m. in a crib on the upper level of a house in the 1100 block of N. Leisure Lane in the Carefree North subdivision of Greenwood. His head was between the crib's slats.
He was taken to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Investigators do not suspect foul play. The boy had down syndrome, they said, and functioned at the level of a 1- to 2-year-old. He did not speak and was in a wheelchair when not in bed.
Authorities are continuing to investigate.
