(WEST LAFAYETTE) - Police have arrested 19-year-old Theophilus Johnson in connection with the slashing of tires on more than 60 vehicles near Purdue University’s campus in West Lafayette.
The West Lafayette Police Department says officers found the 19-year-old man holding a knife after callers reported the tire slashing late Sunday. The Journal & Courier and WLFI-TV report the man was jailed on preliminary charges of public intoxication and criminal mischief.
Police were still collecting reports about damaged vehicles on Monday in the neighborhood a few blocks east of the Purdue campus.
