(COLUMBUS) - Twice last week, Columbus police officers have come across “wax” marijuana — a powerful concentrated form of the drug.
Sgt. Matt Harris, spokesman for the Columbus Police Department, said "wax" is a street name for a very potent form of marijuana that is made by removing THC from marijuana leaves. He said the result is a substance that looks like caramel, has the consistency of lip balm but is much stronger than a marijuana cigarette.
The drug is primarily used in a vaporizing pen or e-cigarette. Harris said police are concerned about the flammability of solvents used in making the drug.
To report suspected drug activity, call 376-2600. Tips can be anonymously.
