(INDIANAPOLIS) - The Indiana Department of Education says its website has been taken offline after a hacking attempt by what appears to be the Nigeria Cyber Army.
The department says the hacking happened early Monday and that there's no sign any data from the website has been compromised.
An agency spokesman says its information technology staff has taken down the website while it reviews the hacking and expects the site will be offline for at least all of Monday.
The Nigeria Cyber Army is a hackers group known for hacking U.S. websites.
