(SHELBYVILLE) - One person was killed Tuesday morning in a fire at a house in Shelbyville.
The Shelbyville Fire Department was called to the home in the 800 block of 4th Street about 8:40 a.m.
Family members told arriving firefighters that someone was still inside.
Firefighters found the person inside. That person, whose identity wasn't released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Fire crews were able to bring the fire under control quickly, but the home was seriously damaged.
Firefighters also battled the elements, with temperatures in the low-teens.
