(HENRY CO.) - Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating the poaching of a turkey that occurred on the Wilbur Wright Fish and Wildlife Area property Sunday morning.
At approximately 9:50 a.m. a turkey was shot in the southwest portion of Wilbur Wright FWA. It was shot with a small caliber bullet, most likely from a .22 rifle.
The turkey was then left there to go to waste.
Conservation Officers are seeking any information that could help us to identify the shooter.
The DNR is working very diligently to establish a healthy wild turkey population in this area of the state. Incidents like this greatly set back the efforts being made, and rob the public of a valuable natural resource.
Officers are asking anyone who may have information to contact the dispatch center at (812) 837-9536
