(UNDATED) - Unidentified human remains were found in Guam near where an Indiana man was last seen.
The remains were found Wednesday, two days after Airman Alec Dye of Mooresville went missing.
Dye was deployed to Andersen Air Force Base in Guam from the 2nd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron at Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana. Dye was last seen December 1 near Tarague Beach near the base.
"This finding is significant, but the search for Airman Dye continues," said Col Kristin Goodwin, 2nd Bomb Wing commander. "He is a member of our family and not a moment goes by that we aren't looking, searching and hoping that we find Alec."
Details on the condition of the remains were not released.
