(INDIANAPOLIS) - An Indianapolis police officer was arrested Thursday on three felony charges.
Police say an internal investigation conducted by IMPD's Special Investigation Unit led to the arrest of Officer Christopher Dickerson.
The allegations stem from a dispatched run in November to which Officer Dickerson responded and his "failure to follow department rules relative to the proper handling of evidence."
Dickerson faces felony charges of Theft, Obstruction of Justice and Official Misconduct. He has been placed on administrative leave with a probable recommendation of termination pending the outcome of an investigation by IMPD Chief Rick Hite.
Dickerson has been with IMPD for five years and was assigned to the Operations Division on IMPD's north district.
No other details were released.
