Man Arrested After Attempting To Run Over Police

(VINCENNES) - A man was arrested Monday night after he attempted to run over two Vincennes Police officers in a stolen car earlier in the day.

Police located 25-year-old Anthony Phothisen at the 6th Street Taco Bell where he locked himself in a restroom.

Several attempts were made to talk Phothisen out of the restroom, however officers eventually broke the lock to get inside and arrest him.

Police say Phothisen is a homeless man from California.

He's facing preliminary charges of attempted aggravated battery, possession of stolen property, and two counts of resisting law enforcement.
