(COLUMBUS) - A Columbus woman had a scary moment early Sunday morning.
Sgt. Matt Harris, the spokesman for the Columbus Police Department, says a woman on Ohio Street returned home from work at about 12:50 a.m. to find her vehicle doors were open. Police arrived and found a sliding door to the home was also open.
Harris says that officers entered the home and found 21-year-old Cory Huddleston of Columbus sleeping on the basement floor.
The resident said she did not know Huddleston and he was arrested.
Police allege that Huddleston had rummaged through the home, overturning furniture and leaving cabinet doors open.
Before Huddleston was taken to the Bartholomew County Jail he was searched and officers found multiple prescription pill bottles from the home's residents and jewelry belonging to the residents on him. He was arrested on preliminary charges of felony theft and burglary.
