(COLUMBUS) - Columbus Police are investigating cases of suspected mail and package theft.
Sgt. Matt Harris, spokesman for the department, said officers were dispatched to the 2600 block of Terrace Lake Road around 9:30 a.m. Sunday after a homeowner spotted a heavyset woman snooping in his parked vehicle. The woman then got in to her vehicle and sped away, while throwing parcels and other pieces of mail out of her window. Police recovered property belonging to 15 different addresses.
The suspect is described as a heavyset white female in her 30s with long, dark hair. Anyone with information on this case is asked to contact Columbus police investigators at (812) 376-2600.
Sgt Harris says you should never leave parcels unattended. If you are expecting a delivery, you should consider picking it up at your local post office.
