(ANDERSON) - 10 students are facing disorderly conduct charges after a fight broke out at a high school basketball game between Anderson and Muncie last night.
According to authorities, the fight happened late in the third quarter between two rival gangs.
Anderson school officials were alerted by Munie police and school officials that potential trouble might develop in retaliation for a previous criminal act done against some Muncie students by Anderson students.
Both Anderson and Muncie police were able to quickly restore order, however the game was delayed for 15 minutes. Those arrested were taken from the gym and charged with disorderly conduct. Additional charges could be added, pending the police investigation.
There is no word what disciplinary action the school might take.
