(RANDOLPH CO.) - Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating a hit-and-run accident which occurred near Farmland on Friday afternoon.
At approximately 2 p.m. a dirt motorcycle being operated by a 15-year old boy was struck by a passenger van at the intersection of 100 N and 900W.
The operator of the van then fled the scene and has not been located.
The boy sustained serious head injuries as a result of the accident, and was airlifted to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio for treatment. Unfortunately, he was not wearing a helmet. A 17-year old male passenger on the motorcycle was not seriously injured and was released to his parents at the scene.
The van involved in the accident is believed to be a silver or light brown early 2000's Chevrolet Venture or Silhouette. The van should have front end damage.
