(MUNCIE) - A 21st birthday spiraled out of control, ending in violence and arrests, Muncie police say.
Officers responded to a disturbance on South Ebright Street around 4 a.m. Sunday. They found Alex Garcia beaten up and Caleb Buffenbarger stabbed.
Police say the whole thing started as a fight between two 17-year-old girls, that's when Garcia allegedly hit one of the girls.
Garcia then went to his car. A second group of guys from the party, then pulled Garcia from the vehicle and beat him up.
That is when Garcia pulled out a knife and stabbed Buffenbarger five times.
Police arrested five adults and three juveniles. They also issued nine underage drinking tickets.
The party happened at the home of Aaron Hines and his wife, Amber. Even though it was Aaron's 21st birthday, he claims he was out earlier. When he got home there were crowds of people there and he had nothing to do with the party.
Police believe there were up to 50 people at the party; they ended up taking 27 of them in for questioning to figure out what happened.
Police are still trying to track down one other person who they believe was involved.
