(CLARK CO.) - Indiana State Police arrested a Clark County man on a charge of child battery.
Authorities arrested 27-year-old Christopher A. Bruck of Underwood on Saturday, after police say he abused his four-year-old son.
Police say the abuse happened at Bruck's home, which is in the 20000 block of Campbell Street in Underwood.
Officers with the Indiana State Police at Sellersburg responded to Kosair Children's Hospital to investigate the child's injuries. The child was transferred there, after initially being taken to the Scott County Hospital in Scott County, Indiana. Officials say a doctor at the Scott County Hospital contacted police after examining the child's injuries.
Prosecutors say the boy has a 30 percent chance for survival
Police say Bruck told them during an interview at Kosair that he became upset with his son and struck him. Authorities transported Bruck to the Clark County Jail. He is being held on a $100,000 bond.
Bruck appeared in court on Monday to face charges of aggravated battery and neglect of a dependent He has requested a public defender.
He is expected back in court on Wednesday.
