(INDIANAPOLIS) - Indiana Conservation Officer Captain Jason Lee graduated from the 258th FBI National Academy Program at Quantico, Virginia on December 19th.
Captain Lee was joined at the graduation ceremony by his wife and two daughters after being separated for the 11 week leadership training.
The FBI National Academy began in 1935 and has graduated 47,898 student police officers from around the globe since it has begun.
"This is a unique opportunity for members of our leadership", said DNR Law Enforcement Director Danny L. East. "We are proud of Captain Lee's accomplishments and we are excited to see him apply these leadership principles to benefit our agency and the citizens of our state."
Two hundred and fifteen law enforcement officers representing 49 states, 26 international countries, 3 military organizations and 4 federal civilian organizations were among the graduates of this graduating class.
Internationally known for its academic excellence, the National Academy Program, held at the FBI Academy, offers 11 weeks of advanced investigative, management, and fitness training for selected officers having proven records as professionals within their agencies.
"This was the greatest and most humbling experience of my professional career", said Captain Jason Lee. "I have a new perspective on leadership and what it means to our agency and the officers who I am trusted to lead."
